Junior Membership
A Junior member is a DAR member between the ages of 18 and 35. Junior members hold full DAR membership and, when qualified, may serve as officers and chairs at the chapter, state and national levels. Our Texas Juniors are college students, professionals, and moms who serve their communities through DAR and many other organizations.
Juniors join DAR for a variety of reasons and have diverse interests. Working together for a common goal forges many friendships and offers endless opportunities for personal and professional growth. The Texas Society supports Junior membership by encouraging active participation within all levels of the organization. Juniors are the future of DAR, and Texas Daughters are proud of our Juniors!
Helen Pouch Memorial Fund
The Helen Pouch Memorial Fund is named in memory of Helen Pouch (1901-1919), who was the daughter of Helena R. Pouch, the first national chair of the Junior Membership Committee. Mrs. Pouch served as President General from 1941-1944.
The fund finances projects chosen by the National Junior Membership Committee with the approval of the NSDAR Executive Committee. Funding includes contributions to the DAR Schools, the National Junior Committee Project, and the Junior Membership Classroom Grants Program. Texas Juniors raise funds for Texas’ contribution to the fund through Junior Sales, other fundraisers and general donations.
