Colonel George Mason Chapter, NSDAR
Garland, Texas

The Colonel George Mason Chapter, National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), Garland, Texas, was formally organized on April 16, 1955, during the administration of Texas State Regent, Mrs. Loretta Grim Thomas. Fourteen charter members included Mrs. Nellen Sellers Arthurs, and Mrs. Frances Sellers Odell, direct lineal descendants of Colonel Mason. The yearbook for 1955-57 listed sixteen members including the Organizing Regent, Mrs. Charles R. McKenney.

Today we are proud of our accomplishments each year. We are visible in the community and in the Texas State Society functions. At our annual February meeting, we honor outstanding students in the area. We meet once a month September through May at 6:00 p.m.
